CauseWay Event Model
The CauseWay event model is an intergration of generally three interest groups: non-profit mission goals, for-profit alignment with those goals, and the general public. The nonprofit agency supplies the cause or need for the event. Proceeds from the event go to support of that need in the community. In addition to ticket purchases by the general public, income is generated through direct financial support of the event from for-profit business who supply advertising and promotions, event facilities, vending stations, and/or other direct or indirect costs.

The Nonprofit Benefit. Participation in an event provides the nonprofit organization a great outreach opportunity to build awareness, increase memberships, as well as receive significant cash proceeds from the event.

The For-profit Benefit. Business owners can participate as either vendors or sponsors. Either way connection with an urgent community need places the business in a stronger marketing position: greater public recognition, opportunities for increasing customers and sales both at the event or in the future.

Community Benefit. Need based events help focus a community on issues relevant to their immediate locale, offering multiple ways for a mixed population of people to mingle, face to face, around a common thread. Benefit events historically are fertile networks that create opportunities for involvement among people who might not otherwise connect. Focused gatherings like these build stronger communities through shared information, participation, community involvement, and ultimatly impart a better understanding of a community's needs.
